The Great Lakes Royals are a woman-owned, community-driven professional basketball franchise built from the ground up in Mid-Michigan. Founded by Kelly Garety, the Royals are Michigan's expansion franchise in the Basketball Super League — bringing elite, professional-grade basketball to Mt. Pleasant and the Great Lakes region.

The Great Lakes Royals compete in the Basketball Super League (BSL) — a professional-level independent basketball league bringing elite competition to communities across the region. The BSL is built to develop talent, grow markets, and deliver high-quality basketball where it matters most.
The Royals are Michigan's franchise in the BSL, representing Mt. Pleasant and the Great Lakes region on a national stage. Our season runs November through March, featuring home games, away matchups, and playoff competition for top finishers.
